How to Make Love Heart Bath Fizzies

I was thrilled to bits when asked to write the craft page each month for Daxi Magazine so I thought I would share it with you all, so here's February's Project.......
Pure indulgence, perfect for a luxurious hot soak in the bath or to make as a romantic treat for your Valentine.  Simply drop one into the bath and watch them fizz away adding a gorgeous fragrance to the water.  These can be made in any shape using silicone baking and ice cube moulds or cookie cutters.  Kids love them too, and are a great way to entice them into the tub!

Quick and easy to create and made with all natural ingredients readily available at your local supermarket and pharmacy.

Ingredients
200 grams Bicarbonate of Soda
100 grams Citric Acid
7 Drops Essential Oil Lavender or Geranium
1 tsp Almond or Olive Oil
1 tsp Glycerin
Rose Petals
Distilled Water

1.  Into a clean dry glass or ceramic bowl, sieve the bicarbonate of soda, then add the citric acid and rose petals and mix together with a metal spoon.

2. Slowly add the essential oil, almond oil and glycerine drop by drop into the mixture whilst stirring to thoroughly blend all the ingredients together.

3. With a fine mist spray bottle, spritz the distilled water (approximately 5 sprays) into the mixture whilst simultaneously blending with the other hand until the mixture starts to stick together. Aim for a consistency where mixture is still pretty crumbly but will just hold its shape when you squeeze it hard in your hand.

4.  Pack the mixture tightly into the moulds, overfilling them using your fingers and thumbs to firmly compact the mixture. Leave to dry for at least 8 hours in a warm moisture free place and then carefully turn them out of the moulds by gently tapping on the back of the mould.

5.  Voila! Enjoy a hot soak in the tub.
